booku

A calmer diary.
A better day.

Booku is scheduling for hair, nail and beauty salons. Organise appointments, see who is free and handle changes from your phone, for one salon or ten.

14 days free, no card needed. Cancel at the end of any month.

Your whole day, in your pocket

The diary is built for a phone first, so the person at the backwash sees the same day as the person at the desk.

One stylist at a time

Swipe between team members on your phone. Each sees their own day without the clutter of everyone else's.

Book, move or cancel in a few taps

Pick a client, a service and a time. Drag an appointment to a new slot when the day changes.

Staff columns on the salon iPad

At the desk, the whole team sits side by side with breaks, leave and gaps in plain view.

Installs like an app, signs in without a password

Add Booku to your home screen. Sign in with a code sent to your email, on as many devices as you need.

Nobody gets booked twice

Working hours, breaks, leave and clean-down time live in the diary, and the database itself refuses an overlap. Two people on the phones at once cannot clash.

Annual leave
back Thursday
  • Hours per person, per salon Set working hours, breaks and holiday for each team member. Leave applies everywhere they work.
  • Clean-down time is protected too A colour that needs a buffer afterwards keeps that buffer. Nothing is squeezed in on top.
  • One person cannot be in two places If Jess works at two of your salons, both diaries know. She cannot be booked in each at once.
  • Held while you choose While a receptionist is finding a time, that slot is held for a few minutes, so a colleague cannot take it.

Set up in an afternoon

Five short steps, in the order a salon thinks about them. No importer or installer to wait for.

  1. You and your salon

Your name, the salon's name and where it is. The time zone is set from the address.

  2. Opening hours

Which days you open, when you close, and any dates you are shut.

  3. Services

Your menu with durations and prices. Add a buffer to anything that needs clean-down time.

  4. Your team

Invite people by email, choose what each can see and do, and set who does which services.

  5. Start booking

The diary is live. Add today's appointments and carry on from there.

Every booking confirmed by text

When an appointment is booked or moved, the client gets a text and an email with the time, the service and who they are seeing. Nothing to remember to send.

One salon or ten

Most salons have one site, and Booku never makes that feel complicated. Open a second and the pieces that should be shared already are.

  • One client list A client who visits Clapham on Tuesday and Brixton on Saturday is one record, with one history.
  • One service menu Set it once for the company. Each salon chooses what it offers and can set its own price.
  • Each salon keeps its own day Its own diary, opening hours, team and roles. A manager in one salon is not a manager in another unless you say so.
  • Owners see everything Switch between salons, or look across all of them at once.

Common questions

Who Booku is for, how it works day to day and how it treats your data. Anything we have not covered, ask when you start your trial.

How long does it take to get going?

An afternoon. Enter your salon, opening hours, services and team, then add this week's appointments. Your team can be signed in on their own phones the same day.

Which salons is it for?

Hair salons, barbers, nail bars, beauty rooms and mixed-service salons in the UK, with one location or several. Mobile practitioners can use it too.

Do my clients need an app?

No. Booku is for you and your team. Clients get a text and an email when an appointment is booked or changed. Online booking, where clients choose their own time, is on the way.

Can my team use their own phones?

Yes. Booku installs to the home screen like an app, and sign-in is a code sent by email, so there are no passwords to share. The salon iPad and everyone's own phone can be signed in at the same time, and you decide what each person can see and do.

What about staff who work at more than one of my salons?

One person is one record. Give them hours at each salon and both diaries know about them. Booku will not let them be booked in two places at once, and their holiday applies everywhere.

Can I bring my existing clients across?

Yes. Add clients as you go from day one, and keep one record per person however many of your salons they visit. Importing a client list from a spreadsheet or another salon system is on the way.

What does it cost?

One monthly plan per salon, with no setup fee and no annual contract. The first 14 days are free and need no card, and you see the price before you pay anything.

Where is my data kept?

In London. Client details are only shown to team members whose role allows it, and you can export your data or remove a client's record when you need to.
